Meet the Principal
Dorothy Ortiz
Hello Gators!
I am Mrs. Ortiz...Your NEW Principal!! I'm really excited to be leading and serving you this year, and I can't wait to meet all of you soon. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead and serve the Gator Community and I'm excited to be a part of CFBISD. With 22 years of experience in education, including 6 years as an administrator, I am eager to contribute to the success of our school.
Before joining Good Elementary, I was the principal at Milam Magnet Elementary in Ector County ISD, a fine arts choice school. I have also held administrative roles at Burnet Elementary, Indian Spring Middle School, and Keller High School. Originally from New Braunfels, TX, I earned my bachelor's degree from Angelo State University and a master's degree in Education Administration from Lamar University.
In addition to my educational background, I have leadership experience from serving in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. During my time in the Marine Corps, I became a veteran, after serving our country during Operation Enduring Freedom. While attending ASU I was also a collegiate athlete, and I am honored to be a member of the Angelo State Athletics Hall of Honor for my college soccer achievements.
My experience in similar transitions has equipped me to ensure that Good continues to excel and prosper. I'm eager to begin this journey together to make an immediate and encouraging impact. My husband is the new head football coach at Creekview HS, and we have two children, Luke and Maybree (who will be attending school in this amazing district). My family and I are so happy to be in CFBISD!
I'm looking forward to partnering with you to have a great year! Looking forward to the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL on AUGUST 12th!!
Sincerely,
Dorothy Ortiz
